WeLoveLakeStreet Recovery Fund Grant

NEOO began its work with LSC in 2021 to support the recovery of businesses and nonprofit organizations in the Lake Street corridor after the civil uprising in the wake of the murder of George Floyd. Through the work of the WeLoveLake Street Recovery Fund,  NEOO is providing pre-development support to these business owners, many of whom are first-time real estate developers.

Our services include education on pre-development activities, identifying sources and uses for funding, developing pro-formas, clarifying visions and operations plans for new buildings, and structuring pre-development schedules.

NEOO has guided several small businesses through government-funded development funds such as the MN Department of Employment & Economic Development’s Main Street Economic Revitalization Program and the City of Minneapolis' Commercial Property Development Fund.

Business Types

Clients include a multi-racial and multi-ethnic commercial office incubator; a community-based, Spanish-speaking, immigrant-focused chiropractic practice;  a social-racial-food justice-driven restaurant incubator and workforce housing project; a multi-racial and multi-cultural serving staffing agency and workforce housing project;  a community-based, affordable commercial business space and workforce housing project; and a community-based, social-racial-and-gender justice driven performing arts non-profit.
